They party

Today in Corporate Twitter, all the social media managers and directors were able to laugh and laugh at something inevitable in tech: an internal disaster.

In this case it was Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp all crashing at the same time.

Naturally everyone flooded to Twitter to LOL. It’s sort of the digital version of going outside after a big earthquake to say hi to the neighbors.

Twitter got the ball rolling by saying hello to the entire Internet.

Then some of the brands, like Snickers knocked it out of the park.

Some tried, but maybe Dads shouldn’t be tweeting during these magical moments.

The best are when the brands tweet to each other.

Notice how Lyft subtly tried to get in the Oscar Mayer wienermobile.

atInstagram got some support from Reddit, which is funny on several layers, but it was sweet.

Who will ever forget when Twitter and McDonald’s made a new friend.

Some of the brands couldn’t help themselves. They had to promote something. Samsung, you really do your laundry on Monday afternoon?

What else was sweet was when NFL tried to change the subject so the crashed platforms wouldn’t feel so bad.

Then Metallica chimed in making the birds fly away, scared.

Once everyone got to say hi, Webex threw cold water on the fun and it was over as quick as it started.

Be excellent to each other!
